Time to shake off the lingering effects of yesterday’s New Years festivities – it’s now officially 2014! You know what that means – time to recommit to your health goals, get active and STAY active. Here are some tips to get moving!
– Baby Steps: Start off by taking your fitness goals slowly. Diving in head first and working out a ton right away sounds like a great way to get started – and to some degree it is – but it’s easy to get burned out quickly or injure yourself.
– It’s a Lifestyle: Something that all those diet fads don’t mention – while you can lose weight fast through them, it won’t necessarily be sustainable. Being healthy and active is a lifestyle – something you must embrace to truly be successful over time. Eating well (making good choices) and exercising consistently are the important factors here.
– Nobody’s Perfect: It can be really frustrating those first few times when you don’t reach a fitness goal, overeat, or lose your motivation to exercise. Don’t fret! That is normal. Nobody’s perfect after all – making mistakes is human. Slipping on health-related goals especially so – maintaining a high level of fitness activity is not easy. Remember that you are in this for the long haul!
